What is this project?
Two things: (1) A free web-based Bible cross-reference tool, and (2) an open dataset that any developer can use to add cross-references to their Bible app.

Can I use this in my church/ministry?
Yes! Our data is free. Share the website, integrate the data, whatever helps people study Scripture.

Why are you targeting a French translation first?
English speakers already have access to many good cross-reference tools. French speakers have far fewer. We want to start where the website will be useful immediately, particularly for believers in Francophone Africa who do not have the same abundance of free resources.

For Users

What Bible translations do you support?
Coming soon: Segond 21 (French MVP).
Planned: Berean Standard Bible (English).

Does this work offline?
Not yet, but it's on a wishlist.

For Developers

What license is the data under?
CC BY-SA 4.0 for our cross-reference mappings. Bible texts remain under their original licenses. Read more.

Can I use this commercially?
Yes. CC BY-SA allows commercial use. Just credit the project and share any improvements to the dataset under the same license.

Do I need to open-source my entire app?
No. Only modifications to our dataset need to be shared under CC BY-SA. Your application code can be proprietary.
