When Terah was 70 years old, he became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. This is the account of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. And Haran became the father of Lot.

Then the LORD said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you.

During his father Terah’s lifetime, Haran died in his native land, in Ur of the Chaldeans.

Then the LORD said to Abram, “Leave your country, your kindred, and your father’s household, and go to the land I will show you.

By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, without knowing where he was going.

The God of glory appeared to our father Abraham while he was still in Mesopotamia, before he lived in Haran, and told him, ‘Leave your country and your kindred and go to the land I will show you.’ So Abraham left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Haran. After his father died, God brought him out of that place and into this land where you are now living.

and the borders of Canaan extended from Sidon toward Gerar as far as Gaza, and then toward Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah, and Zeboiim, as far as Lasha.

Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed with all manner of good things from his master in hand. And he set out for Nahor’s hometown in Aram-naharaim.

Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Haran.

So Abram departed, as the LORD had directed him, and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he left Haran.

Then the servant took ten of his master’s camels and departed with all manner of good things from his master in hand. And he set out for Nahor’s hometown in Aram-naharaim. ... Before the servant had finished praying, Rebekah came out with her jar on her shoulder. She was the daughter of Bethuel son of Milcah, the wife of Abraham’s brother Nahor.

So now, my son, obey my voice and flee at once to my brother Laban in Haran.

“My brothers,” Jacob asked the shepherds, “where are you from?” “We are from Haran,” they answered. “Do you know Laban the grandson of Nahor?” Jacob asked. “We know him,” they replied.
