About
The Bible is not a collection of isolated books. Its authors, writing across centuries, returned again and again to the same promises, the same warnings, the same hope. Cross-references make these connections visible, letting Scripture explain Scripture.
This tool exists so that anyone studying the Bible can see those connections quickly, with the full text of each passage, without needing a shelf of commentaries or a fast internet connection.
Built on a Trusted Foundation
The cross-references in this tool come from the Treasury of Scripture Knowledge (TSK), a collection of over 300,000 connections between words, phrases, and passages across the entire Bible. It was compiled over centuries by faithful students of God's Word and remains one of the best reference works available.
But it was created for the King James Version in the 1800s. We are working to preserve this treasure while making it useful for modern readers and for languages beyond English.
Two Goals
1. A simple study tool. Fast, focused, and free. No clutter. Just Scripture and its connections, on any device. We build with the rural pastor on a cheap phone as our design constraint. If it works well there, it works for everyone.
2. Open data for everyone. We are restructuring the TSK so that it can work with any Bible translation, in any language. This data is freely licensed so that developers can use it in their own Bible apps and tools. When cross-references improve here, they can improve everywhere.
The Project
Behind this tool is an open data project: volunteers doing the careful work of mapping phrase-level cross-references to modern translations. If you want to understand more about how this works, or if you want to help, read about the project →
